The instrumentation on this track gives us a Ryan Leslie-feel, which is not necessarily a bad thing; Jason Jetplane’s upcoming EP Blackbox Vol. Love, is showing some promise with this lead track. (And yes, will overlook the slight corny-ness of the EPs pun on jet themes-ha!)
Born in Keflavic , Iceland and raised in Charlotte , North Carolina , Jason JetPlane has developed a style like no other and is building a fan base that includes many industry insiders. Blessed with a brilliant tenor voice, astounding production prowess and gripping lyricism, this sensuous singer/songwriter has an almost trancelike effect on anyone who listens; including the handful of labels who are currently trying to sign him. With co-signs from legendary artists such as soul superstar Anthony Hamilton, gospel heavyweight Tye Tribbett, and hip hop legend Lord Finesse, Jason Jetplane knows his time is now. “It’s very inspiring to know they have my back and support me and my music and what I stand for. It makes me want to go even harder. After all, these are greats in the game.”
Taking off at the speed of his sensual “electric soul” sound, JetPack Universe recording artist Jason JetPlane is quickly ascending beyond the stratosphere fueled by his debut single and accompanying video “SuperHero,” which is the lead single from his digital EP Blackbox Vol. Love, which will be available for download later this summer. The inspiration for “SuperHero” came from an unlikely source, but one we can all identify with, as Jason explains “I originally wrote “SuperHero” when I was going thru a period when I was questioning myself and where I wanted to go, I was challenging myself to be great and do something that no one has done before”.
“Blackbox symbolizes my heart and this EP is a musical expression of my inner being,” Jason JetPlane explains, “sort of how all jets and planes carry the innermost important records of that plane. Love is bittersweet. This is my journey, so far.”
JetPlane has already won numerous awards, including a New York Urban Music Explosion award as well as Best R&B New Artist at the Carolina Music Awards, which was co-founded by Grammy Award winner Randy Travis. Considered by many industry insiders to be an “Emerging Artist To Watch”, Jason JetPlane is flying high off his debut single and accompanying video “SuperHero,” and he has no plans of landing any time soon as Jason states “I want to push the bar and win Grammy’s”!
