Children of the Night and Mayer Hawthorne – Maybe So, Maybe No [RMX] If you were diggin the original you’re gonna love Children of the Night’s spin off of Stones Throw’s latest signee Mayer Hawthorne’s track “Maybe So, Maybe No”. A very mellow track about the ups and downs of volatile, love/hate relationships with crazy, unpredictable, incomprehensible broads. A neverending story. But eh, it is what it is…enjoy. Children of the Night [COTN] – Comedian [prod. Enndee] The homies Children of the Night [COTN] are prepping another big project, so its only right we had to keep ya’ll posted. The trio of Lansky, Versa and Remy Banks come at you with a slightly different sound on this one. Produced by Enndee, it’s slightly more aggressive than their previous material which was extremley medlodic and smooth. It’s nice to see them trying out a different sound callin all those whack acts out there…They got it; let’s see what they do with it….. *Side note, the horns on this track remind me of Sweatshop Union’s “Oh My” Children of the Night – 100%December 8th, 2008 by Atti Finch
You know what really grinds my gears? When you have legends and pioneers in the game complain about “the state of Hip Hop” and then call out dudes like Soulja Boy. If you don’t like something about the game, why highlight the negatives? Or if they don’t do that, they’ll be like, yeah I’m listening to Jay, Nas, Kanye and T.I.. WTF? I’ve never heard one of the legends say, “yeah the game is twisted right now, but these cats, X, Y, and Z, they doin they thing, keepin that real Hip Hop alive”. This is why people don’t give old heads respek son! [yall know who im talkin about!] Children of the Night – Rap Juggernauts Exhibit A: Children of the Night. “COTN”[cotton] for short. This trio is a relatively new group, but if just one old head gave them a listen, I think a cosign would be in order. They definitely have that sound that bridges the old and the new so effortlessly. The group consists of 3 mc’s: Versa, Remy Banks & Lansky. They hail from Queens. [They reference the F train a lot, Roosevelt Island & East!] and their debut mixtape album 100% is out and available for download.
