The Arsonists are back!?

December 5th, 2008 by
The Arsonists circa 06'The Arsonists circa 2006

There must be something in the air, because in light of all this economic turmoil and in light of being broke, I put a smile on my face today cause I was walking down the street bumping a NEW ARSONISTS joint!!

The Arsonists – Major League

The jury is still out on whether or not this means a reunion so we’ll have to wait and see.  For those of you who are just getting into this Underground thing, these cats embody the Underground.  They represent what it’s all about and I first got put on to them in 99′.  Any head will tell you that The Session [released in 96'] pretty much catapulted them to underground royalty.  I’d be lying if I said I was up on them before that, I can only imagine what it would’ve been like to see all original 13 [i'll even take 8] members rock a show.  But I jumped on train when they had 5.  Their “debut” album As The World Burns is an effin classic and it had the 5 members: Jise, Freestyle, Swel 79, Q-Unique and D-Stroy. Their second album only had 3:  Jise,  Swel, and Q-Unique. I don’t know who came back but on this new track there’s only Freestyle, D-Stroy and Q-Unique. We’ll have to wait and see, until then….check out a free download of The Arsonists Mixtape that was released in 1998 full of classic tracks and singles to bring you a little up to speed! And reminisce with me….back in 1999…..
