Kanye West, aka The Louis Vutton Don, is hot on the heels of success in the realms of music and fashion.  Dropping both the Air Yeezys through Nike and The Don through Louis Vutton, Mr. West has decided to add a more suiting moniker for the world to address the cultural icon: Martin Louis The King, Jr.

The mixtape, compiled by DJ Dub, features Kanye’s latest releases, collaborations, production, remixes and even some Dub remixes.  The mixtape covers the musical spectrum from hip hop to house and is guaranteed to be another classic in the Style & Grace mixtape series Dub is well-known for.  Along the way, you’ll hear Kanye alongside artists like Bun B, GLC, Lil Wayne, Pharrell, Kid Cudi, Common, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Big Sean, Mos Def, The Clipse, Ne-Yo and more!

What happens when you bring the sounds of Hip-Hop’s Top 5 MCs together with one of Rock’s Top 5 Bands and mix it all up with one of the mixtape game’s most creative djs?  DJ Dub & TheOvun.com present “J-A-D-A KISS” and the end result is geared to be one of the year’s best mixtape offerings.

DJ Dub has fused the lyrical juggenaut Jadakiss with the sound of Rock’s ultimate power bands, Kiss.  Enlisting the help of producers DJ Rob Dinero, Marc Nfinite, Overok, Shag Diggler, Cynrok, and Super Hero, Dub brings out the energy of his idea.  Dub said, “I’ve been thinking about doing this for a minute but I knew I was going to need other angles on (Kiss) music so I reached out and got back nothing but gold.”

Jadakiss “Time’s Up” Kiss Remix (prod by DJ Rob Dinero)

While some might expect Jadakiss’s raspy tone to be fighting against the loud fracas of guitar solos and wailing vocals, thats far from the case on this project.  This Remixtape is made to highlight the lyrical prowess of Jada and legendary musicality of Kiss.  Dub is no stranger to concepts such as this with past projects including CRS (Kanye, Pharell & Lupe), Heavy Metal (Ghostface & MF Doom) so of course, Dub executed this with no problem.

It’s here!  Big shout out to Silas, this tape is for you sonny!  If you don’t know that Mos is dropping a new album, The Ecstatic, in February…YOU SLIPPIN.  DJ DUB’s latest release, The Many Moods of Mos, should bring you up to speed as to why Mos  is one of the greatest to ever touch a mic.  The tape is filled with a lot of freestyles, rarities and even a some vintage [97' ha] material from Reflection Eternal, before Black Star even came to be! [FORTIFIED LIVE]

The tape features a host of exclusive remixes produced by DJ Dub himself, M-Phazes and Marc Nfinit. I’m pretty sure this is the only tape out that got the audio of Mos Def’s Milli freestyle [it's NASTEE!]

DJ Furious Styles and DJ Dub Present: The New DC ft. Luegar

November 18th, 2008 by

It’s kinda weird that it took up in till recent years for DC emcees to get their shine. For twenty odd years, BET was based in DC and you had shows like Rap City [remember when it was like 3 hours long lol] being taped in their studios. It’s really weird right? You would think they’d be the first to get that national shine aside from NYC and LA. Sure, DC is known for Go- Go, but Chicago is known for Stepping–just the same they still have an ill Hip Hop Scene with major national props. So what gives?

Luegar – Uptown [prod. Best Kept Secret]

I don’t think we’ll ever know, but it looks like that’s fittin’ to change. It’s no secret that we’re Wale fans over here, but I was put on to Tabi Bonney first when I seen his video on VH1 Soul [ha]. And Even before them, you gotta give ultimate props to the Team Uncut, I think they might’ve been the first, correct me if wrong [ha] and Femcee Nonchalant, probably had the biggest name [where she at?].  But anyways, DC is gonna be that city to watch you got South East Slim doin it up and now Luegar.
