Buckshot is Okay!

So Buckshot is okay, in a recently released press statement over the weekend:


While it is still unclear what caused the seizures, doctors believe that Buckshot was physically drained and became severely dehydrated to the extent that his body shut down, resulting in him suffering nine seizures in less than one day. [CRAZY!!!]

It nice to know that he’s doing well though and he even gave some info on some up coming projects including a Third album with 9th Wonder, a group project with KRS-One and a 4th Blackmoon album.

It’s September 30th, Do You Know Where Your Hip Hop is?

So I’m going to try my best to keep you all abreast [ha] of  weekly underground and indie hip hop releases.  In the music industry, Tuesday is the day for album releases; don’t ask me why, but I think it has something to do with Billboard Magazine, shipping schedules and your mom.  Anyway, every Tuesday is when albums get released, and right here is your spot to check out all of the indie releases.  [Well not all of them, but the best ones, ones that I haven't touch upon before are coming in later posts.]

Get Well Buckshot…

Buckshot and 9th Wonder – Go All Out ft. Charlie Murphy

Duck Down CEO and artist  Buckshot, [the Beady Eye MC :) ] has reportedly been hospitalized after suffering a series of seizures.

According to WENN, Buckshot had returned from a Europe tour prior to suffering the seizures.  The rapper remains hospitalized and is in stable condition.  No other details about his condition were revealed.

We at The Ovun hope all is well and hope for a speedy recovery!

Heltah Skeltah is back on Sept. 30th!

Like I have stated previously, this fall is gonna be a good one for Hip Hop. Heltah Skeltah is coming back from a 10 year hiatus! Ruck [Sean Price] and Rock have joined forces again for their 3rd album, “D.I.R.T. [Da Incredible Rap Team].

It’s been 10 years, so what have they been up to? If you’ve been under a rock or locked down, you wouldn’t know that Sean P, has probably made one of the greatest comebacks in indie history with he release of 2005′s Monkey Barz and 2007′s Jesus Price Supastar. In recent months, word on these internet streets  was  that Rock is dealing charges of attempted murder, but that didn’t stop him from releasing the Shell Shock Mixtape.  From what I’ve heard, this new album fails to disappoint with the same ole Heltah Skeltah with 10 years of improvement.  Who could ask for more?
