I’m on a Boat, in these streets.

Fashion is all about trends.  What’s hot now, what’s going to be the cool thing next season and who’s going to bootleg it like some mark ass tricks.  However footwear, at least for guys, doesn’t revolve too much around trends.  Occasionally guys pick up a new brand or style of shoe for their closet, but if you’re anything like me, your footwear is usually consistent.

Ninety-Nine percent of the time I step out of the house I’m rocking sneakers and most of the guys I know are the same way.  Why is this the case?  Well they’re comfortable, light and easy to maneuver in because never know when you have to dip on someone.  With all that said, I’ve discovered the latest footwear trend for men and I’m jumping on the boat (wordplay is bananas).  You may be asking yourself, “what can be so hot in the streets right now?” and let me tell you, boat shoes son. All day!

Diversify Yo Bonds NUCCA!

Diversify. That’s exactly what the Wu-Tang Clan does. They’ve done it from music to movies, cartoons to videogames, but one thing that remains a constant, is the Clans success in the fashion world. They instantly became fashion icons when they stepped on the scene, portraying their nitty gritty style to the rest of the world with baggy jeans, flannels, bubble vests and timberlands. Then came along Wu Wear, a hip hop line that did pretty well in the late 90s, but died off with the emergence of Rocawear and Sean John.

Even without their own brand the Shaolin style is still relevant today in the fashion world. The Wu-Tang Clan has and still is linking up with ALIFE, a NYC brand, to produce tees, sneakers and limited edition fitteds. They’ve also teamed up with Nike a few times and produced a pair of dunks that are crazy hard to find and super expensive. And now they are back at it, in conjunction with FILA, to produce a pair of boots that will be sold nationwide. The boots actually look dope, staying true to the Wu-Tang style, gutterness. Not sure on availability yet, but we’ll keep you updated……now it’s time to be out.

Side Note: The three kids in the video are the sons of GZA, Masta Killa and Power. Crazy huh?

Lupe Fiasco links up with close homie Dr. Romanelli to create these Chuck Taylor lows for PRODUCT (RED) with Converse The PRODUCT (RED) initiative is to build awareness and raise money for humanitarian efforts.  The sneaker consists of patent leather, including the tongue, with a rubber sole and hints of red can be seen on the trademark eyelet as well as on the sole, keeping with the PRODUCT (RED) theme.  Peep Converse website for the release of these exclusives.

*Editor’s Note:
They kind of remind me of Michael Kors’ Carina….but with laces and all.

…Still Got My Nike Boots

October 16th, 2008 by

Over the last few years Nike has been big on hybrid sneakers, using materials and designs from multiple kicks to spawn a superior sneaker child. So it’s no surprise, (alright maybe it’s a little surprising, I mean these shits are flashy), when Nike combines the famous Foamposite with the east coast winter favorite, the Goadome, to create an offspring named the Foamdome. To back up the boot as a viable winter choice, the inside of the boot is lined with Outlast material to ensure a perfect temperature and moisture balance. Pretty dope huh?

Release date is set for late November/early December, just in time for those fucked up New York winters (damn it’s getting too close). But you may want to start saving bank now or ask for these as a Crit-Ma present, because suggested retail prince is $225.

The black joints are sooooo pretty…….

The Supreme Team

September 19th, 2008 by

I know everyone has switch their Nike purchases from Air Force 1’s to Dunks, but Nike has been coming strong with some crazy Air Forces in recent months. So it goes as no surprise that Nike will be releasing the Supreme Canvas pack at some point this year (sorry on broad release date). These kicks will be made of chambray, a lightweight fabric woven with white threads across a color wrap, and will come in three solid colors. The white leather midsole sits on a gumsole bottom to complete the package. These will only hit select Nike dealers so keep an eye out.
